As a Counselling Psychologist and Adult Psychotherapist, I am interested in the relational patterns that began in childhood and may still be shaping your adult relationships. In our first sessions I will ask about what feels difficult in the present and what your early life was like, inviting you to speak about significant memories, and feelings; after that, we will begin from your sense of what feels distressing and important.
As we build a trusting relationship over time, deeper emotional material may emerge offering a chance to work through what feels stuck in your life and/or relationships. Change tends to need time, so I usually suggest committing to at least six months — sometimes longer — though everyone's needs are unique.
